When you start with an empty Menu Planner 2, Home shows a Get Started checklist: Set up the basics, Add your first recipe, Plan a meal, Make a shopping list and Stock your pantry. The first and last are optional. Steps check themselves off as you do them. You don’t need an account for any of it.
Tap a step to go straight there. When it’s your next step, Set up the basics has a Quick Setup button, and Add your first recipe has Website, Photo and Type It. Stock your pantry has Scan Barcode and Type It.
Moving from another recipe app? Tap Moving from another recipe app? Bring your recipes over on the card. If the original Menu Planner is on this device, Have the original Menu Planner? Bring over your recipes and meal plans brings your recipes and plans over.
Once a meal you planned for today is at the top of Home, the checklist moves under it. Tap ✕ on the checklist to hide it for good. It goes away by itself when every step is done.
If you sign in to an account that already has recipes and plans, Home shows Getting your recipes and plans while they arrive, and the checklist waits until they’re here.
After that, Home shows one Did You Know? card a day about a feature you might not have found. Tap the card’s button, when it has one, to go to that feature, Next Tip to see another, ✕ to close it until tomorrow, or Stop Showing These to turn them off.
Steps only check off for things you do yourself. The starter food Quick Setup adds doesn’t count toward Add your first recipe or Stock your pantry.
