Many recipe apps can export all your recipes to a file, and Menu Planner 2 can bring them all over at once. These include Paprika, Mela, Crouton, Recipe Keeper, Plan to Eat, Copy Me That, My Recipe Box, CookBook, Pestle, Flavorish, Grocery, MacGourmet, MasterCook, Meal-Master, Nextcloud Cookbook, RecipeSage and Tandoor.
- On the Kitchen tab, tap + → New Recipe → From Other Recipe Apps. You’ll also find Import Recipes from Other Apps in Settings, under Import & Export, and, when you’re new, Moving from another recipe app? on the Get Started card on Home.
- Pick the app your recipes are in to see how to export them from it.
- Export from that app. Paprika and Mela can send the file straight to Menu Planner 2; for the others, save the file to the Files app and tap Choose File.
- Every recipe in the file is checked, except ones that look like recipes you already have (the same name or the same web page). Tap Select All or Select None to change them all, then tap Import.
- Photos, ingredients and their headings, steps, prep and cook times, servings, nutrition and where the recipe came from come across, when the other app’s file has them.
- Ratings, favorites and the date each recipe was first saved come across from the apps that keep them.
- A category from the other app is added only when you already have a tag with the same name.
- You can tap Stop Importing at any time. The recipes imported so far stay.
- Can’t find your app? Search for it, or tap My app isn’t listed and try Choose File.
Apps that can’t export: AnyList, BigOven, NYT Cooking, ReciMe, Samsung Food and Tasty can’t send all your recipes at once. Pick the app in the list to see the best way to bring its recipes over: open each recipe’s web page with Find on the Web and tap Get Recipe, then Save Recipe, use From Pasted Text, or, when you have the recipes’ web addresses, tap Paste Recipe Links.
Paste Recipe Links: paste the web addresses of as many recipes as you like, one at a time or a whole list, and tap Find Recipes. Menu Planner 2 reads each page and lists the recipes it found to import together, plus any pages it couldn’t read. Mealime is on the list until it closes on October 21, 2026. Its recipes are on mealime.com, so this brings them over: in Mealime, open a recipe, tap Share, then Copy, and paste it in.
Your recipes in the other app aren’t changed.
