There are three ways, and all of them do the same thing:
- From your list. With one store picked at the top of the Lists tab, items without an aisle wait at the top under Needs an aisle. Tap Pick Aisle on an item and choose.
- One after another. Tap Assign beside Needs an aisle, choose Assign Aisles at the store in List Options (•••), or tap Assign Aisles on the store’s screen or in Settings → Stores. Each item comes up with the store’s aisles as buttons, so it’s one tap each. Skip at the top leaves an item for later, New Aisle adds an aisle, and Undo in the message at the bottom takes back the last one.
- From the item. Edit the pantry item and tap Stores. Under each store tap Set aisle and choose (Add aisles if the store has none yet). To add a store, tap it further down the screen. Tapping an item’s price or amount on your list does the same.
When Menu Planner 2 can tell where an item goes, it offers that aisle first: under Suggested in Pick Aisle, and in Assign Aisles as the Suggested Aisle — tap Use This Aisle, or tap a different aisle below. It works from what you’ve done before: an item that shares an aisle with others at one store probably sits with them at the next, and an item you check off just before things from one aisle is probably near it. On a device with Apple Intelligence, Assign Aisles can also suggest from the item’s name.
The stores and aisles on your items are what organize your shopping list.
