Tap Add Food for Planned Meals. It’s in List Options (•••) on the Lists tab and at the top of the Meals tab, and on iPhone it’s a button on an empty list. Pick This Week, Next Week, Next 7 Days, or your own dates (and Whose Meals, if you have profiles).
- To Buy is checked for you. Tap a row to leave it off. It won’t be offered again unless your meals need more. To add only a few things, tap Uncheck All beside To Buy, then tap the ones you want (Check All puts them all back).
- No Longer Needed shows things added for meals you’ve taken off the plan. They come off your list unless you tap the ones you still want.
- You May Have These are things most kitchens have. Tap any you need.
- Already Covered is in your pantry or already on your list.
- Tap ••• on a row and choose I Always Have This at Home for things like salt, so meals never add them.
Tap the Add button at the bottom; it says how many items and which list. A message lets you Undo. If your plan changes later, a Your meal plan changed card on your list offers to Review what to add or take off.
Pantry items set to Automatic tracking also go on your main list by themselves when what you have, less what planned meals will use, drops below their minimum.
To see which items are for upcoming meals, tap Meal Plans at the top of the list, or turn on Show Which Meals Need It in List Options.
An item for planned meals says how many meals need it and how much, such as For 3 meals · 2 cups. It counts the meals in the next 7 days, or through the last day you added food for, if that’s later. Tap it to see those meals. If meals after that need it too, that screen says how many.
Home shows ingredients for today’s and tomorrow’s meals that aren’t on your list. Tap Add All to your list, or Add for More Days… for the rest of the week. The Missing From List widget does the same for the week.
