If you buy the same thing in different packages — a 12 pack and a 24 pack — keep them as one item with more than one size. Every size shares one count of what you have, one set of nutrition facts and the same recipes.

  1. Open the item and tap the pencil button (Edit).
  2. Tap Other Sizes, then Add Another Size.
  3. Enter the Package Size, how much the Package Holds, its Barcode, and a price for each store under Prices for This Size.

The size the item started with is marked Usual size. Its Package Holds is the same setting as Package Holds under Keeping Count. While that’s still 1, the usual size shows the label’s Servings per package instead; for an Automatic item, tap Change to that number so buying a package adds all of it. Open another size and tap Make This the Usual Size to swap them, or Remove This Size (or swipe the size to the left on the Sizes screen). The size with the lowest price for what it holds is marked Best value.

Your shopping list buys the usual size. To buy another, tap the item’s picture, amount or price on the list and choose under Size; Add Size there adds a new one. For items counted Automatic, clearing the cart adds what the size you bought holds.

Scan the barcode of a new package of something you already have, and you’re asked whether to Add as Another Size or Add as a Separate Item.

Have the same product in your pantry twice? On the Sizes screen, tap Combine with a Duplicate Item… and pick the other one. It becomes a size of this item, and its recipes, meal plans, lists and history move over. This can’t be undone.
