Menu Planner 2On the Kitchen tab, tap + and choose Scan Barcode. Point the camera at the barcode, or type the number into Manual Entry and tap the magnifying glass. The Kitchen switches to its list view and shows any pantry items with that barcode, and Menu Planner 2 also looks it up online.
When the product is found, a Barcode Found Online row appears at the top. Tap its + to add a new pantry item with the name, brand, package size, serving size and nutrition filled in. If it looks like another package of something you already have, you can Add as Another Size instead. If it isn’t found, the row says Barcode Not Found Online, and its + still starts a new pantry item with the barcode filled in.
You can also scan while adding food to a meal or list (tap + there), from Control Center or the Action button, or with the barcode button beside Barcode on an item’s edit screen.
Scanning is free. Online lookup covers US products. When you’re done, swipe the barcode row to the left and tap Clear to put the Kitchen back.
