Open the item, tap the pencil button (Edit), then Nutrition. Enter the values from the package, tap Scan a nutrition label to read them with the camera, or tap Look Up Nutrition Online.

  1. Tap Scan a nutrition label and fit the whole label inside the frame. Each value gets a checkmark as it is read. If the label is hard to read, tap the light at the top right.
  2. The scan finishes by itself, or tap Review What Was Found.
  3. Compare the values with the label and fix any that are wrong. A value that looks too high or too low is pointed out.
  4. Tap Use These Values. Nothing is changed before that, and Undo on the Nutrition screen puts the old values back.
  5. Go back and tap the checkmark (or Done) to keep the item’s new nutrition.

  • Labels with two columns — choose the column to use, such as one serving or the whole container.
  • Labels printed per 100 g or per 100 ml — the values can be saved for one serving, worked out from the serving size, or for 100 g. When typing values yourself, choose Per 100 g or Per 100 ml above the values; it needs a weight or a volume in the serving size.
  • Labels in other languages — labels in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese are read, and salt is turned into sodium.

Set the item’s Serving Size too — it lets recipes turn the amount they use into nutrition.

For water or ice, turn on It has no nutrition. It shows while no values are filled in.
