You can choose calories, the fats, carbs, sugars, fiber, protein, cholesterol, sodium, vitamins A, C and D, calcium, iron and potassium. A goal can be At least, At most or Between two amounts. Under Reference, a nutrient’s screen shows the official figure for it; tap Use to take it.

Fill In Recommended Values uses the FDA’s Daily Values and recommended ranges for adults on 2,000 calories a day — when your device’s region is the UK or elsewhere in Europe, the Reference Intakes printed on food labels. Goals you’ve already set stay as they are, and you can change any of them. Other Goals (tap Add a Goal) appear in the day’s nutrition details but not on the meal plan itself; Foods That Fit uses them too.

Under Foods That Fit, What to Aim For chooses which goals Foods That Fit aims for, keeps under or leaves out.

On the Meals tab, the gear on a day’s nutrition card opens these settings too.
