A household lets other people, like family, a partner, friends or a roommate, use Menu Planner 2 on their own devices, each with their own sign-in. Everyone sees the same recipes, meal plans, shopping lists and pantry, and an item checked off in the store shows up for everyone within moments.
You and each person you invite need your own free Menu Planner 2 account. To start one:
- Open Profile & Settings (tap your picture at the top left) and tap Household. If you’re not signed in, tap Sign In or Create an Account there first.
- Tap Invite Someone. You’ll get a code that works for one person, for one day.
- Tap Send the Code to send it in a message, or let them scan the QR code with their device’s camera. They need Menu Planner 2 on their device first.
Inviting needs Premium + Sync, and only the household’s owner can invite: the person who started it, unless they’ve made someone else the owner. One subscription covers everyone in the household, up to six people, whichever Apple Account each person uses, and gives everyone the Premium features too.
When you invite your first person, your recipes and plans become the household’s. Anyone in the household can add, change or delete things, just as you can.
After your first code is shown and you close it, you’re asked which profile is you. If you close that too, your first profile (the one Menu Planner 2 started you with) is yours. To change it later, tap your own name under People on the Household screen and pick another profile.
Each person picks their own profile when they join, so their device opens on their own meal plan and reminds them about their own meals, and shopping lists show who added what. To take back a code nobody has used, swipe left on it under Invite and tap Cancel Code.
