1. On the Kitchen tab, tap + → New Recipe → From Camera and scan the pages.
  2. With Apple Intelligence, the name, ingredients and directions are sorted out for you, and the recipe opens in the editor.
  3. Without it, Choose the Recipe Text opens. Touch and hold a word, drag the ends of the highlight over the text you want, then tap Name, Ingredients or Directions. Do the same for each part, then tap Done. Use All Text at the top reads the whole page instead and sorts it by the recipe’s own headings, like “Ingredients” and “Directions”.
  4. Check the recipe, then tap the checkmark (or Done) to save it.

From Photo works the same way with a picture already in your photo library.

To scan just one part of a recipe you’re editing, tap Scan above the Directions, or the Scan button above the keyboard when you’re typing ingredients in Text. Pick the text you want, then tap Use Selected Text. What you scan is added after what’s already there, so nothing you’ve typed is lost.

Blurry photos, handwriting and pages without headings can cause mistakes, so check the ingredients and directions before you save.
